Ingredients



    PATTIES
    75gms fresh wholemeal breadcrumbs
    3 tablesp skimmed milk
    1 small onion grated
    1 teasp dried sage
    1 small dessert apple, cored & diced finely
    500g lean turkey mince
    low fat cooking spray
    1 tablespoon wholemeal plain flour

    CHILLI APPLE SAUCE
    1 red chili pepper, de-seeded and finely chopped
    2 cooking apples, peeled cored & chopped (cooking apples in UK are usually Bramleys, large & not sweet variety)
    1 tablespoon granulated sugar


Directions

PATTIES

Method: Combine breadcrumbs and milk in a mixing bowl then mix in onion, sage, diced apple & turkey mince. When thoroughly mixed shape into patties of required size and chill in the fridge for 30 mins. This quantity should make 12 average size ones.

Preheat oven to Gas mark 5/190C

While the patties are chilling in the fridge make the SAUCE
CHILLI APPLE SAUCE

To make the sauce :
place chili, chopped cooking apples and 2 tablespoons of water in a saucepan. Cover & cook gently for 10 mins, stirring occasionally, until apples have softened to a puree. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar.

TO COOK THE PATTIES
lightly coat non stick frying pan with lo fat cooking spray. Dip the turkey patties in the flour to lightly coat them and brown for 1 minute on each side. Transfer to a baking tray lightly coated with lo fat cooking spray and bake for 20 mins.
Serve with the sauce
