Chicken ( with or without bone) 800 gms - 1 kgOnion - roughly sliced, 1 cup Salt 1 tsp ( or to taste) red chilli ( 1/4 tsp or to taste) fresh ginger root - 2 " long piece finely sliced. tumeric power ( optional)
Chop onion, saute them in oil, add salt and red chilli and tumeric powder, add chicken , cook till chicken is white, add half of sliced ginger, and leave to cook for 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes check that the chicken is tender, add the rest of the sliced ginger
Leave to simmer for 5 minutes.
Can top it with chopped corriander leaves
Enjoy with steamed vegetables, boiled rice or pita bread.
