1 c chopped onion1/4 c chopped celery1 clove garlic, minced2 c chopped green bell pepper2 tbsp vegetable oil1/2 lb lean ground beef1 (16 oz) can crushed tomatoes1/2 c tomato juice1/4 c uncooked rice3 c water2 tbsp chopped parsley2 tsp sugar1 tsp salt1 tsp ground black pepper1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
Saute onion, celery, garlic and green pepper in oil until just tender. Stir beef into vegetables & cook until bee is browned. Stir in rice. Add tomatoes, juice, water, parsley, sugar, salt & pepper to beef mixture. Cover & simmer 45 minutes or until rice is cooked. Adjust liquid if necessary. Stir in cinnamon.
