Ingredients
Directions
*1 quart milk of choice (I like whole, organic, grass-fed milk)*2-3 TBSP yogurt of choice or yogurt starter bacteria (once you make one batch of yogurt, you can just use that to make your next batch)Special Tools:*Cooking thermometer*Medium sauce pan*Whisk*8 (4 oz) glass jars with lids, or 1 (qt) glass jar… Must be glass, as plastic will promote the growth of bad bacteria!
1. Pre-heat oven to lowest temp (100 degrees or so). Heat milk to 165-185 degrees F. The higher closer to 185 degrees, the thicker the yogurt.
2. Turn off heat, and allow milk to cool to 105-110 degrees F.
3. Whisk in the already-made yogurt or bacteria starter. Divide milk mixture into glass jars with lids.
4. Turn off oven, and place glass jars inside. Allow milk to sit in the oven (still off) for 9-12 hours.
5. Remove from oven and cool in refrigerator. Enjoy!
Serving Size: makes 8 (4 oz) jars of yogurt, or 1 (qt) of yogurt
