1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)1 cup sugar1-1/4 tablespoon Vanilla1 egg1-1/3 cup flour3/4 teaspoon baking powder1/4 teaspoon salt
Soften the butter by leaving it out for a while, then cream the butter and sugar together. Add in the vanilla and the egg and beat until everything is well-mixed. In a separate bowl, mix the dry ingredients, then fold the dry mixture into the butter/sugar bowl. Drop rounded teaspoon-fulls onto a cookie sheet, leaving about two inches between each cookie. Bake them for 12-15 minutes, taking the cookies out of the oven when the edges are golden-brown.
