I think 'marble cheese' probably refers to Colby Jack cheese, which is a mixture of Monterey Jack cheese (the white cheese portions) and Colby cheese (the yellow cheese portions). - 10/28/10

I have made this before - but we actually left out the mushrooms and used red and green bell peppers instead. We also put the pasta sauce in the crockpot over everything. It is wonderful! - 6/11/08

Question: Is "marble cheese" a semi-soft cheese consisting of two different cheeses such as Cheddar & Provolone?
Also, does the cheese need to be shredded for this recipe?
    Thanks
