1 lb extra lean ground beef1 large onion diced2 stocks celery diced1 TBSP chilli powder / to taste2 - 14-16 oz cans kidney beans - rinsed and drained1 - 14 oz can diced tomatos (low sodium)1 - jar prepared - tomato garlic pasta sauce1 C water to rinse jar and add to pot
Brown meat in fry pan - dice and add onions and celery, 1 TBSP or to taste, chilli powder, stir until meat has browned nicely, rinse kidney beans - add to pot, add balance of ingredients, rinse out pasta sauce with 1 C water, which is then added to pot. Stir until well blended - if you need more time to prepare - transfer all ingredients to a slow cooker and cook on low for 4-6 hours; or simmer igredients in covered deep dish frying pan - for 1 hr - checking periodically - adding water if required to maintain sauce consistency. Makes 10 - one cup servings, Serve with green mix salad and whole grain toast/bread.
