Mom's Apfelkuchen

Ingredients
1.5 sticks butter (3/4 cup) 1 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar 3 Eggs 1 tsp Vanilla 1 1/2 cup Flour1 tsp Baking Powder3 -4 Apples
Directions
Mix all ingredients together except the apples. Pour into large (pre-greased) springform pan. Peel and slice apples and arrange slices on top. Top with cinnamon sugar and/or almonds, if desired.

Bake at 350 for 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean.

Makes 12 - 16 pieces. (I did the calculations for 12.)
