Emmy's Turkey Meatball Sub

Ingredients
1 package of lean ground turkey2 egg whites1/2 cup dry italian breadcrumbs1/4 cup water1/2 onion, finely chopped1tsp garlic powder2tsp dried basil1tsp ground black pepper2tsp dried parsley2 cups reduced calorie mozarella cheese2 cups tomato and garlic spaghetti sauce8 100% whole wheat hot dog buns
Directions
1. Mix together the ground turkey, basil, parsley, water, egg whites, onions, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, black pepper.

2. Rollout the meatballs to approximately 1 1/4 inch around.

3. Turn your oven broiler on high, place the meatballs on a sheet pan and brown the meatballs until they are seared on all sides. This takes about 10-15 minutes.

4. Once seared, place the meatballs in a large sauce pan, cover the meatballs with the spaghetti or marinara sauce, let simmer for 15-20 minutes.

5. Place meatballs on the whole wheat hot dog, it averages about 4 per bun, then put cheese on top. Put the sub back in the oven under the broiler until the cheese is melted.

Ready to eat!!
