Jacques Pepin's figs and walnuts in honey and white-wine sauce

Ingredients
1/4 cup (roughly 4 good-sized) Calimyrna or Black Mission figs8 walnut halves (one for each fig half)1 Tbsp. butter2 Tbsp. honey1 oz. white wine
Directions
Slice figs in half and nestle one walnut half into each one. Set aside. Melt butter in small frying or saute pan. Add honey and white wine and stir to combine. Add figs with their walnut halves and simmer, covered, until tender, about 3-5 minutes. Serve at room temperature, garnished with fresh blueberries or a dollop of Greek yogurt and any remaining sauce spooned on top.
