Slow Cooker Chicken and Vegetables with pasta sauce

4-6 chicken breasts1 26 oz jar of pasta sauce1 medium sweet onion, sliced1 green bell pepper, sliced1 cup mushrooms, sliced1- 2 cups whole baby carrots4-6 cloves fresh garlic, crushedbasil, oregano, one bay leaf, salt and pepper for added flavor
Combine all ingredients in a slow cooker and cook on low 6-8 hours or on high 4 hours. Serve over whole wheat penne rigate pasta. Serves 5. Mix it up with different kinds of vegetables depending on season. Yellow squash and zucchini are great additions in the summer and fall.
