Faux Archway Frosty Lemon Cookies

Cookie1/2 c shortening2 large eggs1 c. sugar1/2 tsp salt1/2 tsp lemon zest1/4-1/2 tsp lemon oil1/2 tsp nutmeg2 c flour1 tsp baking powder1/2 tsp baking soda2 tbsp lemon juiceGlaze2 c powdered sugar1/4 c lemon juice
Combine shortening, eggs, sugar, salt, lemon zest and oil and nutmeg. Beat until smooth. Sift flour, baking powder and baking soda, and add to mixture. Once combined, add lemon juice. Drop tablespoon of dough onto greased cookie sheet, and flatten with a greased flat-bottomed glass. Bake 10 minutes at 375 degrees. Do not overbake!
While cookies are in oven, mix together the powdered sugar and half the lemon juice. Add more to achieve desired consistency. Glaze cookies as they cool. Makes two baker's dozen, or 26 cookies.
