Ingredients
1 cup, Whole Wheat Flour1 cup, Yellow Cornmeal2 1/2 tsp, Baking Powder1/2 tsp, Salt2 tsp, Sugar2 eggs1 1/4 cup, 1% Milk3 Tbs, Vegetable Oil5-6 slices, Smoked Deli Ham, chopped1/2 cup, Cheddar Cheese, shredded
Directions
1. Preheat Waffle Iron

2. In large bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt & sugar. Whisk to combine thoroughly.

3. Add in eggs, oil & 1 cup of the milk. Mix until well blended, adding additional milk as needed to get a pourable consistency.

4. Pour about 1/2 cup of batter onto waffle iron. Sprinkle with chopped ham and shredded cheese. Close iron and cook until browned. Time will vary depending on your waffle iron.

5. Remove from iron & allow to cool. Repeat with remaining batter. Makes approx. 6 whole waffles.

Tip: If your waffle iron creates easy to cut sections in the waffles you can cut the sections before freezing. It makes it easier to take a couple sections out of the freezer and pop them into a toaster or toaster oven for an on the go breakfast. Mine makes 4 sections per waffle. That is about 84 calories per section.
