Reuben Casserole w/ham

1 Tbsp olive oil1 med.onion sliced1 can 14 oz. sauerkraut (silver floss is good)1 tsp. caraway seeds.1 cup dry white wine14 oz smoked ham or Kielbasa (ham is in calculations)1 bag 8 oz shredded swiss cheese.2 Tsp.cornstarch1 1/2 Lb potatoes peeled and thinly sliced.

Spray a casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray, heat oven to 375.
Heat oil and saute onions until tender ,remove from pan and set aside in a bowl.Drain sauerkraut and stir in caraway seeds ,add to onions.Toss to mix.
Return pan to heat and add the wine, heat through for a minute.
Thinly slice the potatoes,use a mandolin or food processor
Begin layering, One layer of potato,( 1/3 of potatoes)
Next 1/2 the sauerkraut mix and 1/2 the meat.
In med.bowl mix the cheese with cornstarch,pour 1/2 the wine over meat in the dish top with 1/2 the cheese.
Add a 2nd layer (1/3) of potato, then the remaining sauerkraut and meat, pour the rest of the wine over and top
off with remaining potatoes and cheese. bake covered for
40 min. uncover and bake for another 20 minutes or until potatoes are done.
