Lebanese Green Bean Stew

Ingredients
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil 1 lb stew meat1/2 a white onion chopped2 cloves garlic minced2 14.5 oz cans stewed tomatoes29 oz water (fill up a stewed tomato can twice)1/2 tsp salt1/2 tsp black pepper1 tsp parsley 1/2 tbsp cinnamon1/2 tbsp allspice5 1/2 cup green beans (42 oz if using canned)
Directions
Coat the bottom of a large stock pot with the olive oil. Add stew mean and onions, saute until meat is browned and onions are translucent. Add garlic and continue to saute for a minute. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 3-4 hours.

    This was good! I cut back on the cinnamon and allspice because I am not a huge fan of those with meat, and used diced tomatoes instead of stewed because that is what I had. Will make again! - 2/6/10
