Spicy Lentil Soup

Ingredients
1 cup red lentils1 tsp canola oil1 onion1 head garlic2 large carrots chopped1 apple chopped2 tsp cumin2 tsp turmeric1 tsp salt1/2 tsp chili garlic sauce
Directions
Rinse lentils. With water, salt, cumin & turmeric, bring to a boil. Turn heat down and simmer about 40 minutes. Meanwhile chop onion, unpeeled carrots & unpeeled apple. Sweat in oil non-stick pan. Add to lentils and simmer until cooked. At this point you may or may not use an immersion blender to blend, depending on desired consistency. Add chili garlic sauce. Yum. Yum.
