Aunt Mary's Wilted greens

Ingredients
8 cups of water.5 cup of Heintz apple cider vinegar.5 cup granulated sugar1 cup of slice green onions and green tops2 tsp salt or salt to taste1 tsp pepper6 slices of bacon10 cups of fresh spinach or other greens
Directions
Wash greens three times in cool water then let dry.
Cut up bacon into small pieces and fry up crisp in a med. size sauce pan, one that will hold over 9 cups.
When done pour off the bacon fat.
In a large bowl add 8 cups of water, vinegar, sugar, onions,salt, pepper.
Pour ingredients into sauce pan with bacon.
Bring to a boil.
In another large bowl,(one that can handle heat) place washed greens and pour hot liquid over greens. Serve in small bowls. May add more vinegar if needed. some people like more vinegar.
