Dutch Tomato Soup

1 onion, choppedsaltpepper2 tomato bullion cubes (look in the Mexican foods section)2 large cans of diced tomatoes3 sprigs of fresh parsley1 lb. lean ground beefvermicelli or angel hair pastabasil1 small can tomato puree
Mix ground beef with salt and pepper and roll into small meatballs. Set aside. Combine all other ingredients, EXCEPT PASTA and bring to a boil. Add 2 large tomato cans full of water (more, if desired). Add meatballs and simmer for 20-30 mins. Add thin pasta (broken into 2 inch sections) and allow to cook for 10 additional minutes.
Serve with crusty bread.
Serving Size: Makes a large Dutch oven full of hearty soup!
