Lentil Soup

1 lb lentils1/4 cup olive oli4 cups yellow onion4 cups chopped leeks1 tblsp garlic1 tblsp fresh thyme1 tsp cumin3 cups celery3 cups carrots3 qts chicken broth1/4 cup tomato paste
cover lentils for 15 minutes with boiling water and then drain.
med heat heat olive oil, onions, leeks, garlic, thyme and cumin for 20 minutes. Add celery and carrots and cookd for 10 more minutes. Add broth, tomato paste, drained lentils and cover and bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer for an hour.
