Hot Brandy Sauce

8 tbsp butter1 cup sugar1/4 cup bourbon or brandy2 tablespoons water1/4 tsp nutmeg1/8 tsp salt1 large egg
1. Melt butter over low heat.
2. Add sugar, whiskey, water, nutmeg and salt.
3. Stir mixture with wooden spoon until sugar is dissolved and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat
4. Whisk until frothy one large egg.
5. Vigorously whisk the egg into the sauce and cook stirring gently over medium heat.
6. Cook until thick.
7. Serve immediately.
Serving Size: Makes 8 serving for a pie
