Cabbage Stew

2 onions sliced thinly1-2 tablespoons butter2 medium carrots chopped2 stalks celery chopped1 package of onion soup mix (optional)2 boulion cubes beef2 cups beef broth1 small head of lettuce (or half a large)1-2 cans of cream of mushroom soup (depneding on how creamy you like it)1/2-1 cup (1/2 cup per can) milk whole1-2 cups of water
melt butter in soup pot on medium to medium high (6/10)
cook onions, celery and carrots until browned slightly (not burned)
add beef broth slowly and boulion cubes
add onion soup mix (optional) if not as flavored
wisk together
add cabbage and mix for 3 minutes until cabbage reduces slightly
add water to cover 1/2-1 inch of everything
allow to come to the boil and reduce heat (3/10)
let simmer for 45-60 minutes until everything is nice and tender. Turn heat off.
add cream of mushroom soup and milk and heat through do not let boil. And very important, enjoy! You can also add potatoes or chicken shredded yummy!
