Less Meat Hearty Chili

Ingredients
1/2 lb lean ground beef2-3 cloves garlic, minced1 large onion, chopped1 28 oz can diced tomatoes1 15 oz can chick peas1 15 oz can pinto beans1 cup salsa1/2 t (or to taste) ground chipotle (or cayenne) pepper 1/2 t (or to taste) garlic pepper (or plain ground, black pepper) 1/2 t (or to taste) salt8 T chopped cilantro (optional)8 T chopped scallion (optional)8 T sour cream (optional)
Directions
1. In a large pot, brown 1/2 LB GROUND BEEF with 2-3 CLOVES MINCED GARLIC and 1 LARGE ONION, CHOPPED.
2. Add 1 28 OZ CAN DICED TOMATOES, 1 15 OZ. CAN CHICK PEAS, and 1 15 OZ CAN PINTO BEANS. Mix well.
3. Add 1 CUP SALSA, 1/2 t (or more or less, depending on taste) GROUND CHIPOTLE (or cayenne) PEPPER, 1/2 t (or more or less, depending on taste) GROUND GARLIC PEPPER (or ground black pepper), and 1/2 t (or more or less, depending on taste) salt.
4. Mix well and bring to a boil over medium heat.
5. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for approximately an hour.
6. Spoon into bowls and top each serving with all or any of the following: 1 T CHOPPED CILANTRO, 1 T CHOPPED SCALLION, 1 T SOUR CREAM
