Ingredients
1 cup of fresh or frozen strawberries1/2 cup of 1% milk1/2 cup of water OR 1/2 cup of ice1 or 2 packets of Splenda sweetner...depends on how sweet you would like it2/3 teaspoon of vanilla extractOPTIONAL 2 tbsp of unsalted and unsweentened peanut butter....this will give you added protein....also makes it extra smoothie and tastes great
Directions
Makes 2 - 6oz servings

Slice up fresh strawberries until you have enough to fill a one cup measure.
Add to a blender or food processor, or if you only have a stick mixer, just put it in a large pyrex jug.
Add rest of ingredients.
Blend until smooth.
it does tend to separate if you leave it sitting around for a minute, Don't let this put you off, just stir it up a bit, it tastes the same, just tends to be more frothy at the top then.

Simple, refreshing, nutritious! What a great summer refresher! The strawberries are so sweet right now that I made it with no extra sweetening! Yum! Even my husband liked it. Thanks for sharing. - 7/29/09

I used regular sugar and my son and I enjoyed the strawberry smoothie. I used half ice and half water, and added a little milk powder to boost the protein amount. Good for a hot day. - 5/7/09

I thought this was really good. I used regular sugar too instead of splenda and I don't think I got enough in the smoothie. But it was refreshing and made a tasty breakfast drink. - 6/24/08

This was delicious!!! I used regular sugar instead of the sugar substitute! Tastes like the ones we used to get at the mall! - 6/17/08
