Butterscotch Bliss Bars

1/4 cup applesauce1 cup unbleached white flour1.5 tsp butterscotch extract3/4 cup sucanat (or brown sugar)2 tbsp unsweetened vanilla almond breeze1/4 cup egg substitute1 tsp baking powder1/2 tsp salt1 cup chopped nuts if desired (NOT included in nutrition info)
Heat oven to 350³F. Spray an 8x8 baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.
Combine applesauce, sucanat, extract, egg substitute, and almond breeze in a medium bowl. Stir until combined.
Add in flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir until well combined.
Spread in prepared pan.
Bake for about 25 minutes (or until golden brown and firm to touch) and let cool for 5 minutes before cutting. Cut while still warm, and enjoy!
