(Lucky's) Turkey Vegetable Soup

Ingredients
1lb lean ground turkey1 medium onion, chopped1 garlic clove, minced16 ounces tomato sauce16 ounces kidney beans, rinsed and drained (optional)1 package (10 ounces) frozen or canned corn1 cup Shredded carrots1 cup chopped green pepper1 cup chopped red pepper1 cup chopped red tomato1 tbs chili powder1/2 tsp dried basil1/2 tsp salt1/4 tsp pepper*recipe from "Big Book of heartwarming soups"
Directions
cook turkey and onions in a skillet until meat is no longer pink. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute. Transfer turkey and onions into a 5qt slow cooker. Stir in the rest of the ingredients and cover and cook on low for 8 hours, until thick and bubble. Add a little water to make thinner, if desired.
