French onion soup

Ingredients
2 Tbsp butter 8 oz swiss cheese shredded 3 cups beef broth 1 cup red wine 3 onions thinly sliced French bread or croutons cubed Add bay leaf and 1 tbps thyme
Directions
Slice onions very thinly and cook in butter until clear and a brown coating has appeared throughout. Careful not to burn. (Cover about 20 minutes)
Add broth and wine. Also a bay leaf and thyme. Cook 2 hours.
Place dried bread or croutons into French onion soup bowls
Top with shredded cheese
Pour soup over until nearly full.
Top with more cheese and place under broiler until bubbly. Serve and Bon Appetit!
Place one slice of bread into soup bowl and cover with 2 oz of cheese. Pour soup over top and place under broiler until browned. Serve and enjoy.
