Very good. Can be done with any red meat. I added garlic and onions. Sauce was very good on mashed potatoes. - 2/19/11

This was very good, and did a great job of disguising that "gamey" taste of ELK. I loved it, and so did the rest of the family. I will defeinitely be making it again.
THANK YOU for the recipe :) - 6/30/07

This was fabulous! I did add some things like onion and garlic powder, and a little red pepper flakes to the flour. I also sweat down some onions and garlic in the oil before I put the steaks back in. I didn't have any tomato sauce so I used V8 juice but no water. I will make it this way again. - 1/27/13

I am not a fan of venison, but my husband has hunted all his life and this is what he loves. So I must begin finding ways to fix this game. This is a good choice to use. Thank you for sharing! - 9/1/12

I can't buy venison locally tho I love it. Use to get it when my Dad & Uncle went hunting, my Dad did it to put food on our table, literally. My uncle use to cull the deer on his property (own 100 forested acres and had to save the herd from starvation). Haven't had it in yrs but this sounds delish! - 1/1/12

soak the venison in milk for an hour or so, it works for fish to take out strong flavors. - 2/19/11

I guess I should go hunting as I don't know of anyone selling game locally ;). I wonder if this would be better with Bullwinkle? He's rarely gamey. - 2/19/11

I love venison, but get very little of it. My family used to hunt, but not any more. Would love to try the recipe. - 2/19/11
