Homemade Mac n Cheese w/ Tomatoes

*Macaroni, enriched, 2 cup elbow (8oz uncooked)Butter, salted, 2 tbspOnions, raw, 1/2 cup, chopped Flour, 1 tbsSalt, 1 tspDry mustard, 1/4 tspWhite pepper, 1/4 tspMilk, 1%, 2 cupCheddar Cheese, 2 cup, shredded Red Ripe Tomatoes, 1 medium sliced*Mussos Italian Toasts 3 pieces, crushed*or substitute another brand baked crouton/breadcrumb
Preheat oven to 350
Grease a 2 quart casserole dish
Boil macaroni for 10 minutes and drain
While macaroni is cooking, melt butter in sauce pan
Warm milk in microwave for 1.5 minutes
Sauté onions in butter until soft and almost golden
Add flour & spices to onions and sauté for a minute
Whisk in warm milk
Cook over low, stirring often, until thickened (appx 8 min)
Turn off heat and whisk in cheese
Pour macaroni into casserole dish
Stir in cheese sauce
Top with sliced tomatoes (leave gaps between)
Cover all with toast crumbs
Bake uncovered for 25 minutes or until lightly golden
