Crockpot Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

Ingredients
2 sliced apples1/4 cup brown sugar1 tsp cinnamonpinch of salt (optional)2 cups old fashioned oatmeal (or steel oatmeal)2 cups milk2 cups water
Directions
Layer all ingredients into crockpot as listed. DO NOT STIR. Cook 8-10 hours. I might suggest 6 - 8 hours. Wake up in the morning to an awesome aroma. Stir the oatmeal and serve.

    On warm til morning. Cooked in 5 hrs On low. I used 4 apples chopped up w peel on, 1 c dried cranberries, 3.5 c h2o, 2.5 c lite coconut milk, 3x the spices(love them spices!!!), 3 Tbl honey, & steel cut oats. OMG...can't wait for morning. It's already done and is WONDERFUL. Will be a staple for us - 1/24/18

    Not bad! Not terribly fond of the apple slices, though. Will make again with chopped instead of sliced apples and add a splash of vanilla for extra flavor. Suggest garnishing with chopped walnuts for a nice crunch and some healthy fat. - 1/23/16
