Low Sodium Mac & Cheese with Ground Beef & Broccoli

Cook 4 oz pasta in boiling water till "al dente," then drain in colander. Brown ground beef in pan, add 1/2 C finely chopped onion, and cook till onion is clear. Add 1C mushrooms, stir. WHITE SAUCE: While beef mix is cooking to finish, put 2 Tbs butter in medium saucepan. Add 1 C water, 1/3 C instant nonfat dry milk (can use 1 C milk instead), and bring to a simmer. Sprinkle in 1 Tbs of flour, stir still smooth and it begins to thicken. Add 1C of shredded cheddar cheese and stir till smooth. Add pepper to taste. Add pasta to sauce, broccoli and meat mixture also. Stir together. Pour into sprayed baking dish & cook for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
