Ingredients
2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil1/3 cup finely chopped red onion1 clove garlic, minced16 ounces 93%-lean ground turkey1 teaspoon ground cumin1 teaspoon dried oregano1/2 teaspoon salt1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper1/8 teaspoon ground cloves2 tablespoon cider vinegar1 medium tart green apple, peeled and chopped1 cup chopped tomato3 tablespoons chopped green olives1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce1/4 cup sliced scallion greens
Directions
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; cook until soft, stirring often, about 2 minutes. Add turkey; cook, stirring and breaking up, until lightly browned, 4 to 6 minutes.


Stir in cumin, oregano, salt, pepper and cloves; cook for 30 seconds. Stir in vinegar, scraping up any browned bits. Stir in apple, tomato, olives and Worcestershire sauce. Reduce heat and gently simmer, stirring often, until any liquid in the pan has reduced to a syrupy glaze, about 8 minutes. Stir in scallion greens and serve.

    I too tried this recipe from Eatingwell.com. Though the serving size is a bit off and so are the calories. Should be about 2 - 1 1/2 cups for servings and 246 calories per serving. When I made mine it was very vinegary. So I would make it without the vinegar especially if you have tart apples. - 2/24/11

    I made this recipe for Christmas, and it was a HUGE hit!!! This recipe was doubled, except for the last ingredients...not sure why. When I make it, I use 2 Granny Smith apples, 2 tomatoes (chopped/seeded), 6 Tbsp chopped green olives, 1 tsp Worstershire sauce, and 1/2 cup sliced scallion greens. YUM - 1/17/10
