Swiss Tomato Chicken (Low Sodium)

Ingredients
2 medium onions, chopped4 cloves garlic, minced3 cans, Del Monte diced tomatoes unsalted6 chicken breasts, boneless, skinless6 slices, Kraft Aged Swiss Deli slicesBlack pepper to taste
Directions
1. Sautee onions and garlic in a skillet.
2. Spray a casserole dish with nonstick spray
3. Pour drained cans of diced tomatoes and mix onions and garlic into bottom of casserole dish.
4. Place 6 breast pieces on top. Season with black pepper.
5. Bake in oven at 375 degrees, 45 min
6. Place slice of cheese on top of each breast, and bake for 10 - 15 min more.

Makes 6 servings (1 chicken breast and scoop of tomato mixture)

    I just used two cans of diced tomatoes and threw them in a crockpot with 6 chicken breasts with a heavy dose of Mrs. Dash Italian Medley on low for ten hours... put a slice of swiss on after and it was delish! Thanks for the idea!! - 4/10/11

    This was very good, I seared the chicken in the skillet after I sauted the onions and garlic and before I put in the oven to give the chicken more color and flavor. - 2/3/11
