White Beans and Ham

Ingredients
2 cups dry great northern beans4 cups chicken broth4 cups water1/3 cup brown sugar3 cups diced ham, (or substitute ham hock)1 med. onion, chopped1/2 tsp. rubbed sage1/4 tsp. baking sodadash cayenne pepper, (optional)
Directions
Add all ingredients to slow cooker. Cook on low for 8-10 hours.

Makes 8 1-cup servings.

***To speed up this meal, soak the beans overnight before adding them to the slow cooker. Reduce the cooking time to 2-4 hours.
