Ingredients
3.0 tbsp Chili powder3.0 tbsp Coriander leaf, dried1.0 tsp Cumin seed3.0 tsp Garlic powder1.5 tsp Oregano, ground1.5 tsp Paprika1.0 tsp Pepper, black1.0 tsp Pepper, red or cayenne1.0 tsp Salt1.0 large Onions, raw1.5 pepper Hot Chili Peppers900.0 Grams Ground beef, extra lean (15% fat) pan broiled2.0 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Directions
1. Add all dried spices in small bowl & add 1 cup warm water and stir. 2. Dice onion. 3. Add oil to large pot or deep pan and add diced onions. Soften onions until translucent approximately 10 minutes. 4. Add ground beef and cook until browned. 5. Pour spice mixture over beef and stir. Add more water if necessary to make it soupy. 6. Gently simmer over low heat for 3 to 4 hours until desired consistency is reached to make a moist beef but not runny. My favourite way to eat this is loading romaine lettuce leaves with approx. 1/4 cup of the beef mixture, topped with a bit of cheddar cheese, salsa & tzatziki sauce. Yum! So delicious, you won't miss the flour tortillas, I promise. You can also add it to a salad with some salsa & a bit of cheese for a wonderful taco salad. Enjoy! Serving Size: 1/4 cup (50 grams)
