Grandma's Gourmet Cranberry Pudding

Ingredients
---Pudding---1 cup flour1/2 cup whole wheat flour1 1/2 cups fresh (or thawed frozen) cranberries 1/2 cup molasses2 tsp baking soda1/2 cup boiling water---Sauce---1/2 cup salted butter3/4 cup sugar1/2 cup evaporated skim milk (not sweetened condensed)1/2 tbsp vanilla
Directions
---Pudding---
Preheat oven to 350F, and place a shallow baking pan of water on the bottom rack.
Grease a loaf pan and set aside.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flours, baking powder and cranberries.
In another bowl blend together molasses, baking soda and water (mixture will foam substantially).
Pour molasses mixture into the cranberry mix and beat quickly to blend well.
Pour into the loaf pan.
Bake 55 minutes.
---Sauce---
In a small saucepan, melt butter.
Stir in sugar and milk, bring to a slow boil.
Cook 5 minutes, remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
Serve warm over hot pudding.
