Petticoat tails shortbread

* Butter, unsalted, 0.50 cup * Granulated Sugar, 0.25 cup * *Wheat flour, white, bread, enriched, 1 cup * Cornstarch, 0.5 cup * Salt, 0.15 tsp
In large bowl cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Gradually sift in flour, cornstarch, and salt, combining thoroughly until the mixture is uniformly crumbly.Press together to form a ball.
Place in center of a lighly floured ungreased baking sheet.
Roll or pat out to a circle 1/8 inch thick. Cut out a 3 inch round in the center but do not remove.
Cut and mark the outer circle into 8 wedges,and prick all over with a fork to make petticoat tails.
Bake in a preheated 300 degree oven for 20 mins, until sandy white and firm to touch. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
Makes 8 wedges and 1 round.
