Homemade French Fried Onions

Ingredients
3 large onions2 cups nonfat milk2 cups all purpose floursalt to tasteoil for frying
Directions
Slice onions into rings. Soak them in the milk for 5 minutes.


Heat the oil in a large skillet.


Coat the onions with flour.


Fry the onions in the oil. Flip and stir as needed to ensure they brown evenly.


Place on paper towels to soak up the excess oil. Salt to taste.


Store in an air tight container.


Makes about 6 cups. A serving is 2 Tbsp.

    I LOVE frizzled onions. I consider it a food group on it's own. This recipe is awesome! I cut the recipe down for one. So I used 1/4 of a large onion & I added about 1 1/2 Tbsp of garlic salt to 1 1/2 c of flour. So good!! Feel free to add spices to your flour! I also used light cream, not milk. - 2/27/13
