Sausage n' Cabbage with Red Beans n' Rice

Ingredients
Eckrich Smoked Sausage, 16 oz Cabbage, fresh, 1 head, small (about 4-1/2" dia)Onions, raw, 1 small *Zatarains Red Beans and Rice, 4 cup Olive Oil, 2 tbsp Water, tap, 4 cup (8 fl oz)
Directions
Cut cabbage into strips. Dice onion. Cut smoked sausage into peices. Place all in crockpot on high. Add seasonings as desired, I added Mrs. Dash and a pinch of pepper. Add in 2 cups of water and cook for about 30 min. Add in the Zatarain's Red Beans and Rice mix and 2 cups of very hot water. Cook on high for another 15-20 min. Set on low and cook for several hours until everything is tender.

    This recipe is awesome. I changed the sausage to turkey sausage to reduce the fat and instead of doing all of the high and low temps I just thru it all in the crockpot and forgot about it for a few hours. YUM!!! - 10/4/10
