Cuban Picadillo

Ingredients
1 pound lean ground beef (or lean ground turkey)2 tablespoons olive oil1 large onion, chopped (1 cup)1 medium green pepper, diced (3/4 cup)1 large clove garlic, crushed1 16 oz. can diced tomatoes1/3 cup raisins1 tablespoon chili powder1 teaspoon salt1/4 teaspoon cinnamon1/8 teaspoon ground cuminFresh-ground pepper to taste
Directions
Brown beef in large heavy skillet. Drain off any fat. Push meat to one side, add oil, onion, green pepper and garlic. Saute until onion is tender, stirring occasionally. Stir in undrained tomatoes, raisins, chili powder, salt, cinnamon, cumin and pepper. Cover and simmer about 30 minutes or until flavors are blended, stirring occasionally.

Makes 4 nice servings.

    Awesome Recipe. I personally use a mixture 1/2 beef 1/2 turkey. All the flavor 1/2 the fat. - 5/20/11
