Mom's Spaghetti

Ingredients
1/2 c. onion, sliced2 T. oil1 # ground beef2 cloves garlic, minced2 cans tomato sauce1 c. water1/4 c. parsleyoregano, sage, salt, pepper, and thyme to taste1 bay leafcooked spaghetti
Directions
Cook onion in hot oil til golden. Add meat and garlic, brown lightly. Add remaining ingredients, simmer uncovered 2.5 hours, or until sauce is thick. Remove bay leaf. Serve sauce on hot cooked spaghetti.
