Chickpeas garlic sauce with pasta

Ingredients
1 Tbsp Olive oil1/4 cup chopped onions2 garlic cloves, crushed1 can (19oz) chickpeas, drained and rinced (2 cups)1 1/2 salt reduced or fat reduced chicken broth or homemade1/4 tsp crushed red peper flakes3/4 pqt dry whole wheat pasta3/4 cup cherry tomatoes halved (opt)2 tbsp minced fresh parsley (opt)1 tbsp fresh lemon juice (opt)
Directions
Heat oil. Add onion & crushed garlic, saute 1 minute.
Add chickpeas, broth and red peper flakes.
Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer 15minutes.
Use processor to puree smooth.
Meanwhile cook pasta.
Combine sauce, pasta, cherry tomatoes, parsley & lemon juice. Mix & serve.
