French Onion Soup

Ingredients
1/4 cup unsalted butter8 cups sliced yellow or sweet onions (5 medium onions)2 14-ounce cans beef broth3/4 cup chicken broth (low-sodium)3 tablespoons all-purpose flour1 1/2 cups water1 tablespoon ketchup1 1/2 tsp ground black pepper1/2 tsp dried thyme1/2 tsp garlic powder1/4 tsp tabasco pepper sauceAsiago cheese (optional)
Directions
Melt butter in large saucepan over medium heat
Add sliced onions and saute for 15-20 mins, sturring often, until onions brown
Add remaining ingredients (but not the cheese) to the pan
Stir to combine
Heat until boiling, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 20 minutes
Shave asiago cheese with potato peeler
Serve the soup hot with Asiago cheese sprinkled on top
Serves 4
Nutritional Information includes asiago cheese garnish. If left off, soup will be healthier, but less tastey ;)
