Ingredients
Directions
16 oz Shredded Cheddar Cheese2 cups Self-Rising Flour1 stick Margarine (softened)1 tablespoon red or cayenne pepper
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine all ingredients. Need into a dry doughy texture. (A food processor will greatly improve preparation time but I usually do by hand). Roll into 1 inch balls until no longer feels dry. You may add a tiny bit of water if you want to. (I don't). Then shape this ball into a 3 inch long straw or finger shape. Space out on a cookie sheet so they are not touching each other. Cook for 12 minutes. Makes approx 72 cheese straws about 3 inches long and about as fat as your fingers.
After they cool you can put them in ziploc baggies and keep on the counter for snacks. Sometimes I mail them to my daughter at college. She loves getting this for a special treat!
