Spicy Pork Bolognaise Sauce

500g lean minced pork1 large onion, diced2 cloves garlic, crushed or finely chopped2 x 400g tins chopped tomatoes1 tbsp tomato puree½ tsp chilli powder or dried chilli flakes (adjust to taste if you like it hotter or milder)1 tsp dried basil1 tsp dried oreganoSalt & pepper, to taste1-2 tbsp gravy granules (optional)
Dry fry the mince in a large pot until completely browned. Drain off any fat.
Add the garlic and onion and cook for 2-3 minutes until transparent.
Add the rest of the ingredients, except for the gravy granules, and stir well.
Cover and simmer over a low heat for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
If the sauce is a little watery, add enough gravy granules to thicken the mixture and cook for a further 10 minutes with the lid off.
Serve with spaghetti or your favourite pasta.
