Tomato Lentil Soup

2 Cups raw carrots, chopped1 Cup raw celery, chopped1 Cup raw onions, chopped1 clove garlic, crushed1 1/4 Cups dried lentils1 1/2 Cups water1/2 tsp. ground black pepper2 chicken bouillon cubes1.75 Cups (14 oz.) stewed tomatoes1 Tbsp. dried parsley1 6-oz. can tomato paste
Makes 10 to 12 1-cup servings.
Chop carrots, celery and onions; add garlic and saute in a small amount of water until tender in large pot.
Add lentils, water, pepper, chicken flavoring, and stewed tomatoes. Stew until lentils are tender, 20 to 30 minutes.
Add 1 6-oz. can of tomatoes paste, stirring until blended.
Heat to serve.
May add water to thin slightly, if desired.
