- Minutes to Prepare:
- Number of Servings: 12
Ingredients
Directions
Sauerkraut, 1.5c (1-1.5c)Onion chopped, 3TMayonnaise, 1TCream Cheese, 3ozBread crumbs .5c
First I drain the sauerkraut very good. While that drains I saute the onions for a few minutes then add the mayo to the onions stir well and cook for a few more minutes. Turn off when done. Then when the kraut is drained put in a med mixing bowl with the onion mixture and cream cheese. I mix it up really well with my hands. Then make balls. I scooped out a little over a tablespoon at a time to make the balls. Then I placed them all on a plate and refrigerated till cooled and firm. (about 10-20min) Then pull them out of the frigde and roll them in the bread crumbs till covered. Then I baked them at 425-450 for about 15 mins. Then I broil on low for a few mins keeping a close eye, to brown a little to get some what of fried effect.
Should make about 12 balls.
You can also fry them but that changes the nutrition facts. they are supper tasty fried I just bake them so there's not so much fat.
