Corn Tortillas

Ingredients
200 gm masa harina280 ml hot water
Directions
Add 280 ml hot water to 200gm masa harina.

Let sit for 30 minutes.

Add cold water, 1 tablespoon at time mixing each time until you get the consistency of putty. It should not be sticky.

Divide into 15 balls.

Use a tortilla press as directed to make individual tortillas.

Heat a grill plate on the cook top, the front should be at a moderate heat and the back very hot.

Flip each tortilla in turn onto the front plate. Wait 15 seconds for the edges to begin to dry and the tortilla to unstick. Flip over onto the hotter end of the grill plate. Let cook for about 45 seconds, turn over. Cook another 45 seconds. Remove from heat.

Keep warm.

Let sit for about 10 minutes before eating.

It's a bit fiddly, and I would add a pinch of salt to future recipes when I make this.

Makes 15 X 6 inch tortillas.
