Destache's Family Lasagna (beef/sausage version)

16 oz lean ground beef 93%16 oz Italian sausage, bulk16 Creamette Lasagna noodles2 cans Tomato Sauce (about 30 oz total)1.25 lb part skim mozzarella cheese, shredded16 oz fat free cottage cheese, drained1 med onion, chopped1 stalk celery, chopped3 cloves garlic1 tbsp brown sugar2 tbsp oregano2 tbsp basilsalt & pepper to taste4 tbsp grated parmesan cheese (optional)
Preheat oven to 375*F
Brown meat, add onion & celery until softened, add minced garlic. Saute an additional minute. Add tomato sauce, sugar, basil, oregano, salt & pepper.
In large size lasagna pan, spray with non-stick spray, add a couple tablespoons sauce and spread to prevent noodles from sticking. Layer four noodles, sauce, mozzarella, cottage cheese. Repeat for a total of three layers. Optionally sprinkle top layer with parmesan cheese.
Cover with aluminum foil, heat in oven for 50 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

I'm not from Wisconsin, but my father's family is from Green Bay. I'm sure some of their descendants may have settled in Oconto.
