Ingredients
Directions
1.5 lb green beans2 c white or brown rice1 tbsp canola oil2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce2 tbsp honey1 tbsp garlic chili sauce (more if you want it hotter)1-2 cloves garlic
In a medium saucepan boil a cup of water and place a strainer/steamer over top the boiling water. Place green beans in steamer for about 5 minutes. Meanwhile, in a skillet, heat the canola oil over medium high heat. ( In a separate dish make the sauce by combing the soy sauce, honey, garlic chili sauce and garlic. ) Once the oil has heated be sure to begin preparing the rice using the directions on the box. Then remove the skillet with heated oil from the burner and turn it down to medium and add green beans while pan is not directly over heat (otherwise oil may pop out of pan). Cook the green beans for another 3 or so minutes then add the sauce into the pan. Heat and stir the green beans with the sauce until the beans are cooked but still crisp. Serve over the rice. Makes 4 servings.
