Whole wheat pumpkin muffins

Ingredients
Granulated Sugar, 2 cup (remove)*Crisco Pure Vegetable Oil, 4 tbsp (remove)Applesauce, unsweetened, .25 cup (remove)Egg, fresh, 3 large (remove)*Whole Wheat Flour, 3 cup (remove)Baking Powder, 1.5 tsp (remove)Baking Soda, 1 tsp (remove)Salt, 1 tsp (remove)Cloves, ground, .5 tsp (remove)Cinnamon, ground, .75 tsp (remove)Nutmeg, ground, 1 tsp (remove)Walnuts, .25 cup, chopped (remove)
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 F. In a large bowl, mix together sugar, oil, eggs, pumpkin and water. In a small bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices. Add to first mixture and blend together with electronic mixer. Add walnuts (if desired). Let stand one hour at room temperature.
Grease muffin tins (enough for 20-24 muffins). Bake 15 minutes. Yeild 20-24 muffins. Freeze extras.
